Spokane ICE protesters found guilty of conspiracy to impede officers

SPOKANE, Wash – A jury has found three people guilty of conspiring to injure or impede officers during a protest last summer at an ICE facility in Spokane.

After less than a day of deliberation, the jury found Justice Forral, Jac Archer and Bajun Mavalwalla guilty as charged.

Seven others faced similar charges, but took plea deals in the case.

The charges stem from a protest in June 2025, when people tried to stop federal officers from transporting several detainees to the ICE facility in Tacoma.

What started as a small protest ballooned into hours of confrontation with officers.

The people charged maintained they were demonstrating their right to demonstrate and also that it was not a coordinated effort to try and injure officers.

The trial stretched into a second week before jurors took the case Wednesday afternoon at 2 pm. They deliberated until 5pm, then reconvened Thursday morning.

They announced their verdict early Thursday afternoon.

The charges carry a penalty of up to six years in federal prison.

They’ll be sentenced at a later date.
