
HEYBURN STATE PARK, Idaho — The new Chatcolet Marina at Idaho’s Heyburn State Park is open and offering people a great place to play on the water.
The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation celebrated the ribbon cutting for the arena last week, just in time for Memorial Day weekend.
According to the department, the new marina offers expanded opportunities for people to boat, bike, fish, swim and paddle.
It features 148 covered boat slips with electrical hookups. Boaters can fuel up at the fuel dock and pump-out station
There is also a 1,000-foot accessible breakwater for fishing, swimming, or just lounging by the lake.
For people who enjoy dry ground instead, Heyburn State Park offers camping and access to the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes which is 73 miles paved trail that runs from Plummer, Idaho to Mullan, Idaho.
Heyburn State Park is about 40 miles south of Coeur d’Alene.
