BONNERS FERRY, Idaho – A strong storm system that moved through the Inland Northwest Thursday night knocked out power to most of Boundary County, Idaho.
Sheriff Travis Stolley posted to Facebook early Friday morning that power was out for most of the county and “is expected to remain out for the foreseeable future.”
He cited a significant number of trees and power lines down across the county.
Sheriff Stolley said fire departments, county road workers, Idaho Department of Transportation and law enforcement were out overnight clearing travel routes and assessing damage.
As of 6:15 Friday morning, Northern Lights Electric reported about 8,900 customers without power across North Idaho.
