SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane police and Spokane Public Schools are investigating social media threats against several schools in the district made Thursday evening.

In a letter to parents, the school district confirmed they are working with law enforcement to investigate the threats. Multiple parents reached out to NonStop local with screenshots of the unconfirmed threats, which they said their students received on Snapchat.

“Both SPS and law enforcement take these types of reports and the safety of students and staff very seriously,” the district’s letter read. “We will provide additional updates as details become available, but want to make you aware of the situation even as the investigation is still very early and active. It is important that you know that law enforcement and SPS are doing everything they can to thoroughly investigate and quickly determine the source.”

The school district has a campus safety line anyone can reach out to with concerns of school safety. Just call (509) 354-7233 during the day or call (509) 354 5934 after hours. You can also email safeline@spokaneschools.org.
