SPOKANE, Wash. — A man was sentenced to a year and a day in prison for exposing himself to students outside the Gonzaga University dorms in February.
According to the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office, 55-year-old Robert M. Packard plead guilty to one count of indecent exposure with sexual motivation back in March.
Court documents show that in February, Packard was standing outside a dorm window with his pants down, exposing himself and masturbating. The two roommates inside the dorm notified police, who arrested Packard in the act.
Packard had been previously trespassed from Gonzaga’s campus.
The Prosecutor’s Office says Packard’s criminal record includes a prior indecent exposure conviction, a conviction for sexual battery of a minor, and multiple trespassing convictions.
During Tuesday’s sentencing hearing, Packard agreed to the one year and one day sentence so that he might get help through prison programs.
The judge also ordered Packard to be supervised during 3 years of community custody. He will also be required to register as a sex offender and may not have unsupervised contact with minors.
