SPOKANE, Wash. — Many people in the region have mentioned smoke in the air. A 2,000 acre prescribed burn on the Montana border brought smoke into the Spokane area.

According to the Northern Lakes Fire Protection District (NLFD), winds have shifted bringing the smoke from both this burn into our area. NLFD also said there are prescribed burns going on in the Coeur d’Alene River Ranger District that could be contributing to the smoke.

SCFD 8 also said there are no new brush fires in the Spokane County area.

They have patrolled the areas and will update if there is an emergency.
