SPOKANE, Wash. – The Lilac Bloomsday Association has announced a new program promoting healthy lifestyles for students.

The “Fit for Bloomsday–Fit for Life” campaign will offer activities for young people participating in Bloomsday and Jr. Bloomsday.

Communications and Sponsorship Coordinator Bethany Lueck illustrated the intended impact of the new program.

“This program aligns with our mission to empower youth to get involved in sports competition and fitness education. By providing free and accessible activities, we hope to inspire a lifelong commitment to making healthy choices,” Lueck said.

The Jr. Bloomsday race will take place April 14 at Spokane Falls Community College, and the main race will be May 5.

“Fit for Bloomsday–Fit for Life” will kick-off next week and will offer programming at several Spokane schools.
