2 dead after single vehicle rollover crash on SR-20 in Okanogan County

OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. — Two people are dead after a single vehicle rollover crash on SR-20 Thursday morning.

According to a release sent by Washington State Patrol, they were called to a crash on SR-20 near milepost 276 in Okanogan County on Jan. 11 at 6:48 p.m.

As they arrived on scene they determined that the crash was fatal. A 77-year-old man and 57-year-old man both from Danville, Washington were pronounced dead at the scene.

Through initial investigation, the 77-year-old man was driving on westbound SR-20 when he decided to pass in a no passing zone. He went around a corner and lost control of the vehicle.

The car left the roadway and rolled down an embankment. As law enforcement arrived on scene, the car with both the driver and passenger inside was upside down in the creek.

At this time it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash and WSP is continuing to investigate the cause.
