COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — The Mill apartments in Coeur d’Alene are expected to be finished within the next two months.

Construction on this $10 million project started about two years ago and was expected to be finished in March of this year. A lack of staffing was the main reason the completion was delayed, according to Mike Burton, superintendent for Yost Gallagher construction.

There were 14 construction workers assigned to this project on Oct. 10th. For Burton, he says that he wants more, but the industry is very short-staffed.

This complex is four-stories tall, the top three floors are high-end apartments ranging in size. Some units have balconies overlooking parts of beautiful Coeur d’Alene.

The bottom floor will have five businesses: a hair salon, barbershop, retail store, restaurant and an esthetician shop. The idea is for this to be a one-stop-shop for residents of the complex.

None of the floors inside are completely finished, but the top is closer to completion than the bottom. Workers are starting at the top floor and working their way down.

Construction workers are looking to complete drywall as part of their next steps.
