PITTSBURGH — One drawback to winning a Super Bowl is picking last in the first round of the next year’s NFL draft. That’s the situation for the Seattle Seahawks, who also have limited selections beyond that spot.
Seattle holds its first-, second- and third-round picks, along with a sixth-round pick acquired from the Cleveland Browns. The Seahawks traded away all of their lower round picks. The fourth- and fifth-round selections were dealt to the New Orleans Saints for wide receiver Rashid Shaheed.
Speculation is that Seattle could trade its first-round pick to add more late-round selections. The Seahawks are expected to bolster the defensive line and secondary in this year’s draft.
