Western Washington experiences 4.3 magnitude earthquake near Poulsbo

SEATTLE, Wash. — Early this morning, residents in western Washington may have felt shaking due to an earthquake that occurred near Marrowstone Island.

Around 7:30 p.m. last night and 2:20 a.m. this morning, the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network reported an earthquake 20 miles from Poulsbo.

This earthquake was reported as a 4.3 magnitude and had a depth of 34.87 miles.

Many residents around the area reported shaking or felt a slight shift on the ground. The PNSN released a shake map for this earthquake.

On the map you can see that the earthquake stretched all the way up to the Canadian border and down to Olympia. In most of the areas near the epicenter only experienced light to weak shaking.

After the earthquake ended, the US National Tsunami warning center released that a tsunami is not expected as a result of the earthquake

There were no damages due to this earthquake, but the residents around the area are shaken up.
