OMAK, Wash. — Omak Police Department arrested two convicted felons after multiple reports of shots fired near Omak on Sunday morning.

On Oct. 29 around 12:30 a.m., multiple callers and witnesses reported hearing shots fired near the Roadway Inn and Los Gallos in Omak.

Omak Police Department officers and Okanogan County Sheriff’s deputies responded to that area. Witness described a man and the vehicle seen driving away.

As a deputy was arriving at the scene, he saw a vehicle that matched the description that the witness provided. The deputy conducted a traffic stop where he safely detained two suspects.

The suspects matched the description given to them. When running their names, deputies found that both were convicted felons and were prohibited from possessing a firearm.

In the vehicles, the two suspects possessed semi-automatic weapons and deputies found several shell casings near the scene.

The firearms are being submitted to the Washington State Patrol Crime Laboratory for further analysis and comparison examinations.

This is an ongoing investigation, information will be updated as we learn more.
