OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Washington State Legislature has finalized its 2024 Capital Budget, which will allocate $1.3 billion to construction and maintenance campaigns across the state.
Spokane is mentioned 9 times in the proposed budget summary. Funding to energy efficiency upgrades, cleanup efforts following the Oregon and Gray fires in Spokane County, and upgrades to public campgrounds around eastern Washington are included in the proposed budget.
The legislature has until March 7 to pass the budget within the regular legislative session. According to a statement from Senate Democrats, the funding is expected to pass by deadline.
