SPOKANE, Wash. — Thousands across the Inland Northwest are without power Thursday evening as severe thunderstorms move through the region.
More than 30,000 customers are without power, according to utility company outage maps.
Power outages are not the only impact from the storm. A lightning strike has sparked a fire at a new duplex in Spokane Valley, according to the Spokane Valley Fire Department.
Avista is reporting over 18,000 customers without power in and around Spokane and Whitman County.
Inland Power is reporting over 2,500 customers without power in Spokane County and Whitman County.
Kootenai Electric is reporting that over 1,600 customers are without power. Mostly east of Athol, Idaho.
Northern Lights Electric Cooperative is reporting over 11,000 customers are without power in and around Sandpoint, Idaho.
