SPOKANE, Wash. – Amy Katherin Riggs was sentenced to 11 years in prison in a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) case which found that she distributed over $100,000 worth of meth, fentanyl and heroin.

According to the US Attorney’s Office for Washington’s Eastern District, Riggs was a significant figure in an illicit drug trafficking scheme which sold drugs around Spokane.

Riggs was purportedly responsible for identifying how much inventory had been seized by law enforcement whenever a DEA raid occurred, as well as looking for “rats.”

“Riggs became a self-styled enforcer for the organization, to earn favor with the leader of the organization, who resides in Mexico,” the Attorney’s Office said.

She was arrested in April 2022 after investigators executed a search warrant on a drug house where she was living at the time. Drugs, several thousand dollars and 3 guns were found during the sweep.

Riggs will serve an additional 5 years of probation after her projected prison release in the mid-2030s. She is currently in Spokane County Jail.
