Retired local veteran gifted patriotic quilt through TEDD drawing

COLVILLE, Wash. — A local veteran was gifted a patriotic quilt through a drawing hosted by Tri County Economic Development District (TEDD).

James Bailey, a retired U.S. Army soldier from Cusick, won the quilt at the February TEDD Board of Directors meeting. Judy Lockner and Valerie Lamont hand-made the blanket.

Lamont and Lockner have created nearly 20 quilts, all gifted to local veterans. Now, they are finishing their next project for a future TEDD meeting.

“We hope that the quilts will offer comfort and underline our appreciation for their many sacrifices,” Lamont said.

You can nominate a veteran or, if you are a veteran, submit an entry for the drawing at the TEDD office or on their website. All veterans who reside in Ferry, Stevens, or Pend Oreille counties are welcome to enter.
