Spokane Public Library hosts yarn and fabric exchange

SPOKANE, Wash. – Do you have a knitting or sewing project that you started but never finished? Is a pile of old fabric silently judging you from your crafts drawer? The Spokane Public Library is here to help.

Clerical Assistant Lisa Cox began a yarn and fabric exchange at the Shadle Park Library in Nov. 2023 with the hope that local sewing enthusiasts would be able to share unused resources.

The exchange exploded in popularity and is now available at the Shadle Park, Liberty Park, Indian Trail, South Hill and Hillyard libraries.

If you are interested in offering some of your unused yarn or fabric, you can visit any one of the aforementioned locations. Sharp objects such as needles are not included in the exchange.

Long-term quilting experts and knitting needle novices alike are invited to participate.
