Spokane police arrest man for allegedly stealing blind woman’s phone

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Police Department arrested a man for allegedly stealing a blind woman’s cellphone on Feb. 21.

Malcolm Davis is accused of approaching a blind woman in downtown Spokane at around noon, and asking for money.

The woman reportedly declined to give Davis money, at which point he snatched a braille cell phone from her and fled.

Officers found Davis, who allegedly matched witness descriptions, and found the victim’s cell phone on his person.

Davis was arrested for felony theft and a previous burglary warrant. He is currently in Spokane County Jail.
