SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane City Council voted 6-1 to buy new drones for the Spokane Police Department.
Four Skydio X10 drone platforms will be purchased from Axon Enterprise for SPD to strengthen the region’s public safety infrastructure.
The city council also voted unanimously to buy mitigation barriers and other needed equipment to enhance public safety during World Cup activities.
The city says this will ensure law enforcement is better prepared for both the World Cup and other large-scale events in the future.
