SPOKANE, Wash. — It’s not every day that there’s a dragon in our NonStop Local studio, but that was the case this weekend as the Spokane Chinese Association president, Weiling Zhu, brought performers to preview Sunday’s Lunar New Year celebration that kicks off at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox at 1 p.m.

That celebration will last until 4p.m. and celebrate Chinese music, martial arts, and dance performances like the ones you see in this special preview video as Weiling Zhu talked to NonStop Local’s Melinda Lee about the significance of the Lunar New Year and this year of the dragon.

Tickets for February 18th’s Lunar New Year celebration range from $13-$23; admission is free for children 12 and under and seniors 70 and over. Tickets can be purchased here.
