Cougar attacks cyclists, injuring one person

Fall City, Wash. — One person is injured after a young cougar attacked a group of cyclists.

According to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), five cyclists were biking on a trail northeast of Fall City, Washington in King County when they were attacked by a cougar. The cougar injured a 60-year-old woman who was later transported to the hospital for her injuries.

Cyclists were able to tackle the cougar until a WDFW agent was able to assist and remove the cougar. A hound handler is searching for a potential second cougar involved in the incident.

WDFW Police are advising people to avoid the area.
