Salvation Army seeks sponsors to give a stress-free Christmas to eastern Washington wildfire victims

WASHINGTON – The Salvation Army is searching for at least 20 sponsors for its Adopt-A-Family and Angel Tree programs to benefit eastern Washington wildfire victims this holiday season.

The goal is to bring holiday cheer and brighten Christmas for children and families directly affected by the Gray Fire in Medical Lake and Oregon Road Fire in Elk.

When you Adopt-A-Family, the Salvation Army will provide a Christmas ‘Wish List’ that comes from a selected family. Then, you start shopping and help provide a stress-free Christmas to a local family. Drop off day will be on Mon, Dec. 18, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Businesses, services clubs, organizations, churches and families are encouraged to participate.

Those who sign up for the Angel Tree commit to hanging pre-labeled gift tags in a common space or on a Christmas tree to allow anyone in the community to select a tag and purchase the item listed. The gifts will be handed out to children and families this Christmas. Drop-off will be Monday, Dec. 18, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

To sign up for Adopt a Family or the Angel Tree, fill out the Salvation Army Google Form. For more information, visit the Salvation Army website.
