Part of stolen WSDOT asphalt truck salvaged after catching fire

WASHTUCNA, Wash. – An asphalt truck stolen from the Washington State Department of Transportation caught fire after a police pursuit on Tuesday, ending with an arrest.

In an update, WSDOT reported their mechanic assessed the damage done to the truck. While the front end “is toast,” the back was mostly untouched and can be reused.

No crew members were hurt in the incident, and Washington State Patrol was able to take the suspect into custody with no further incidents.
