Worley man sentenced 25 years in prison for child sexual abuse

KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — A Worley man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexual abuse of a child under the age of 16-years-old.

70-year-old Daniel P. Montague was accused of having sexual contact with a minor between 2017 and 2020 when the child was between the ages of five and eight years old.

Montague was said to have touched the child’s body inappropriately and rubbed his genitalia on the child.

On May 26, he was arrested and charged with sexual abuse of a child and two counts of lewd conduct with a minor.

Sexual abuse of a child is a felony and can be up to a 25 year prison sentence.

The prosecution sentenced Montague to a 25 years in prison sentence with parole eligibility after 15 years. District Judge gave the same sentence.

70-year-old Daniel P. Montague was sentenced on Sept. 19 and is currently in Kootenai County Jail.
