Numerica donates $20,000 in literacy and children’s books

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Numerica Credit Union has donated $20,000 toward literacy programs and children’s books as part of Read Across America Month.

Numerica is partnering with local United Way chapters and Chelan Douglas Child Services Association, Numerica has supported the delivery of thousands of books to families with children under five through Dolly Parons’ Imagination Library program.

“Developing a love for reading starts by having books in the home,” said Carla Cicero, Numerica president and CEO. “This investment is reflective of Numerica CARES for Kids, our commitment to uplifting youth and families. Alongside community partners, we are proud to ensure families with young children have access to interesting and fun books.”

Numerica will also be hosting a Kids Book Party on Saturday, March 2 from 1:30 through 3:30 p.m., these events will be free and will include live readings, a bookmark craft, snacks and free books at four Numerica branches:

· Spokane Lyons branch: 303 E Lyons Ave.

· Coeur d’Alene branch: 465 W Bosanko Ave.

· Wenatchee branch: 12 N Wenatchee Ave.

· Tri-Cities Court Street branch: 2307 W Court St.

In addition, Numerica volunteers will be reading with preschool children and donating books to youth-serving nonprofits throughout March.
