SPOKANE, Wash. — With Veterans Day approaching, Meals on Wheels Spokane and Fairmount Memorial Association will be partnering up to host the 11th annual “Feed our Veterans 5k.”
The race will take place at Riverside Memorial Park on Nov. 5, with the 5k starting at 10 a.m.! Registration is open online now, but you have until 9 a.m. on Nov. 5.
The course will go through Fairmount’s Riverside Memorial Park and go up into the tree-lined hills of Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Adults, children and all dogs are welcome to join this 5k!
After winding through the beautiful course, at the finish line you can enjoy free beer and chili! You will also receive a commemorative race day t-shirt.
Meals on Wheels Spokane will be accepting donations of Carnation Instant Breakfast, warm winter socks and gloves to be donated to the homebound clients along with their daily meals.
To run this race and pay tribute to our veterans, there will be a $25 registration fee that will provide five meals for our Spokane seniors and veterans, but of course will also include a race t-shit!
All proceeds for this race will go towards Meals on Wheels to support veterans and make sure none of them go hungry this year.
