More victims reported in early morning Spokane Valley shooting

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Detectives from Spokane Valley Major Crimes are actively investigating the early Friday morning shooting of two men and one teenager.

Around 12:30 a.m. police received reports of an argument and gunshots at an apartment complex near the 4000 block of South Bowdish Road.

Police say early findings indicated that two men arranged to meet with two other men when an argument ensued possibly concerning drugs.

During the argument a teen was shot and sustained life-threatening injuries. Two other men were shot but their injuries were not life-threatening. The fourth man involved fled the scene and appears to be uninjured according to police.

Police are investigating all three separate crime scenes at this time.

Although the investigation remains active, according to police there is no threat to the public.

A man with a gunshot wound was discovered in a ditch after fleeing from police following a reported robbery near East 16th Avenue and South Pines Road.

Police responded to reports of a robbery just after 12:30 a.m. early Friday morning near East 40th Avenue and South Bowdish Road at an apartment complex.

According to Spokane Valley Police, a man in a white SUV was seen shortly after the incident, dropping something off at a nearby Exxon gas station on 32nd Avenue and HWY 27.

Police are investigating that scene, and the gas station is taped off until further notice.

Shortly after, police followed the SUV observed at the gas station. Noticing the SUV traveling at a high rate of speed from the apartment complex, the pursuit ended when police found the SUV in a ditch near East 16th Avenue and South Pines Road.

The police found one man inside the SUV who had sustained a gunshot wound and treated him on the scene before transporting him to the hospital. The police have not confirmed that the man is a suspect in the robbery.

There has been a second person reported shot at first scene on East 16th Avenue and South Pines Road, but their condition and involvement in this incident have not been disclosed by the police.

One lane of traffic on 16th Avenue near the SUV scene has been closed until further notice.

The apartment complex where the attempted robbery occurred is still under investigation. Please avoid the area until further notice.
