SPOKANE, Wash.- The Lilac Bloomsday Foundation will host a kick-off event at No-Li Brewhouse on Feb. 22.

The event will highlight plans for merchandise and events during the Bloomsday race on May 5.

Festivities will be introduced by Association Board President Dori Whitford, and new details about the race will be provided by foundation members.

Sponsorship and Communications Coordinator Bethany Lueck highlighted the importance of the local Spokane community to the annual event.

“This event marks the official start of the Bloomsday festivities and provides a unique opportunity to engage with the media, sponsors, and the local community,” Lueck said.

Sponsors and media partners will be recognized at the event, and attendees will be offered free No-Li refreshments. The foundation intends for the event to increase excitement for the annual race.

“This press conference aims to generate excitement and momentum for Bloomsday 2024,showcasing the unique aspects of this year’s event and emphasizing the importance of community involvement,” Lueck said.

Bloomsday has become a Spokane tradition since its founding in 1977. The Lilac Bloomsday Foundation hopes to increase that footprint with preparatory programming heading into May, and to facilitate connection between community members in Spokane.

The Kick-off will take place at 11am at No-Li Brewhouse.
