LAPWAI, Idaho – The Idaho State Police (ISP) is investigating a car crash that left a man injured after he crashed his car into a tree.

On April 26, around 11:10 a.m., ISP said a maroon SUV, driven by a 63-year-old man from Caldwell, was traveling southbound on the US 95 near milepost 297, three miles south of Lapwai.

Police said the driver drifted on the right side of the highway and then continued to a private driveway near Maamin Drive.

The car then traveled a short distance before hitting a tree, which caused it to fall on a nearby power pole.

ISP says power was interrupted for an unknown amount of time.

Police said the man was transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
