Early morning crash near Othello leaves 1 injured

GRANT COUNTY, Wash. – A crash on Washington State Route 24 has left one hospitalized early Thursday morning.

A 2008 Toyota Prius traveling westbound struck a 2003 Peterbilt 362 semi-truck traveling eastbound after crossing the center line of Washington State Route 24, 17 miles southwest of Othello.

The Washington State Patrol reported that the driver of the Prius, identified as 48-year-old Justin K Jepson from Mesa was injured and transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. He was reported to not be wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Peterbilt was wearing a seatbelt and was reported uninjured.

Both cars were totaled in the accident.

Charges against Jepson are still pending.
