Coeur d’Alene woman arrested in hit-and-run crash

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — A local woman faces felony charges after police say she struck two vehicles at a gas station and fled the scene, injuring at least two people Wednesday afternoon.

Julie A. Clock, 62, of Coeur d’Alene, was arrested on a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident following the incident at the Exxon gas station at 2105 N. 4th St.

Officers responded at approximately 1:30 p.m. to reports of a hit-and-run crash. Police say Clock struck a vehicle in the parking lot before backing onto N. 4th St. at a high rate of speed and hitting a second vehicle. Both vehicles sustained significant damage.

The injured individuals were transported to Kootenai Health for treatment. Clock fled south on N. 3rd St. after the crashes.

Witnesses followed Clock to a residence near the intersection of East Pennsylvania Avenue and North 11th Street and reported her location to authorities. When officers arrived, Clock initially barricaded herself inside the home but surrendered after telephone negotiations.

Clock could face additional charges if police determine she was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The investigation remains ongoing.
