Spokane County celebrates phase one of Plante’s Ferry Sports Complex renovations

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash – Soccer players in Spokane now have three more turf fields to play on, along with getting more parking and new field lights.

Spokane County leaders cut the ribbon Wednesday on renovations at Plante’s Ferry Soccer Complex.

The 95-acre complex off Upriver Drive hosts league play and tournaments for soccer players of all ages.

It also has softball and lacrosse fields.

“As the population of Spokane County has grown over the years, so has the demand for high-quality sports facilities,” said Spokane County Commissioner Josh Kerns.

Commissioner Kerns also commented on the excitement around soccer in Spokane right now, with news the area will host Team Egypt during this summer’s World Cup.

The $9.2 million renovations are paid for by state and county funds.

It also includes upgrades to stormwater infrastructure and new fencing and planting.
