COEUR D’ ALENE, Idaho – A man from Coeur d’Alene was sentenced for revenge porn and possessing numerous amount of drugs including meth and fentanyl.
On September 2023, Eric John Burke a 51-year-old was looking through his girlfriend’s iPad without permission, Burke discovered nude photographs sent to other people before they began dating. Burke became enraged by what he discovered and sent the nude pictures to several people; including his mother and one of the victim’s coworkers.
After kicking Burke out of the residence, his now ex-girlfriend began the process of changing the locks to the residence. As this was happening, Burke returned to the residence and attempted to force his way inside after claiming he had left his “medication” in a box under his ex-girlfriend’s son’s bed. The “medicine” inside the box turned out to be 88 fentanyl pills and various items of drug paraphernalia
Police issued a warrant for Burke’s arrest but before his arrest, Burke called his ex-girlfriend and left multiple threatening voicemails indicating she could lose her job and kids if she didn’t speak with him because he still had possession of her pictures and was going to send them to her employer and ex-husband.
Burke was convicted by Kootenai County Prosecuting Office for video voyeurism, intimidating a witness, possession of fentanyl with intent to deliver, and possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
