SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – These days, demand is high for skilled workers in trade industries, and local companies are looking to hire for an assortment of jobs you may have never even heard of before.

To help meet that need, East Valley School District is partnering with dozens of local companies to host their first-ever Career Crossover Event at East Valley High School.

Open to the public and free to attend, everyone is encouraged to head to EVHS between 5-8 p.m. on Oct. 25. There, you’ll have a chance to learn more about available opportunities in skilled trades and even operate industry-standard equipment — after some safety training, of course. Just make sure to wear long pants and close-toed shoes!

Plus, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office will be landing a helicopter in the school’s field at 5:45 p.m., and the U.S. National Guard will bring a Stryker and Wrecker to check out up close! It’s a great chance for those interested in mechanics beyond your standard cars and trucks to.

Representatives from over 70 local companies will be there, representing a wide range of trades including aerospace, masonry, automotive, advanced manufacturing, construction, and everything in between. If you enjoy work that is hands-on, there is undoubtedly a skilled trades career suited to you!

Many of the owners will be present to speak with job candidates directly and help connect you with HR to get you started with the application process.

If an active career in a skilled position sounds right up your alley, this is the event for you. And if you plan on dropping in, it’s a good idea to bring a resume if you have one, just in case!
