Assault charges against Airway Heights man dropped

SPOKANE, Wash. – Assault charges against Devine Bullard have been dropped after a Spokane County prosecuting attorney found evidence that negated the allegations against him as charged.

Bullard was charged with five counts of first-degree assault after he allegedly fired upon two men on his property on Feb. 4.

Court documents show that Bullard asserts he was pepper sprayed by one of the two men before defending himself.

Wyatt Walker was later identified by Spokane County Medical Examiners as the individual who died as a result of the shooting.

Bullard’s defense attorneys argued that he engaged in self-defense and that he was being harassed.

The charges against Bullard have been dismissed without prejudice and he is now free to return to his Airway Heights home.
