3 officers who shot, killed north Spokane shooting suspect identified

SPOKANE, Wash. – The three Spokane police officers who shot and killed a suspect after he allegedly shot a woman in a north Spokane home on Monday were identified.

Sergeant Jeremy McVay, Officer Brandon Fabian and Officer Ricky LaBelle with the Spokane Police Department (SPD) discharged their weapons at a home near Nevada and Wellesley after officers received a report from a woman saying she was being threatened with a gun. While on the phone with the victim, SPD dispatch heard gunfire, followed by the woman saying she was shot.

When officers arrived on the scene, officers and the suspect exchanged gunfire and 50-year-old Erick Cid was killed.

The three officers involved in the shooting were placed on administrative leave.

The woman was taken to the hospital, where she was treated for gunshot wounds to the arm and neck. Her condition remains unknown.

The Spokane Independent Investigative Response Team continues to investigate this incident.
