SPOKANE, Wash. — A woman is dead after a crash in Deer Park Sunday morning.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) said the crash occurred on March 3 just before 10 a.m. in the 2600 block of East Deer Park Milan Road. When deputies arrived, Spokane County Fire District 4 Firefighters were providing medical aid to the driver of an SUV, who appeared to have life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV was declared dead. The driver of the second vehicle, a Ford F250, remained on the scene and was treated for minor injuries.

Traffic Unit Investigators responded to the scene to investigate due to the seriousness of the crash. Initial information indicated the SUV was driving west on Deer Park Milan Road, lost control, sliding across the center line and into oncoming traffic.

Speed and slick conditions appear to be factors in this crash. This incident remains under investigation.
