SPOKANE, Wash. – The woman arrested for a deadly car vs. pedestrian crash that happened Wednesday appeared in court.
Marisa Jolley, 28, was initially charged with vehicular homicide after hitting and killing a pedestrian moments after the pedestrian was first hit.
Court documents say that Jolley did flee the scene, but shortly after called 911 to meet with them near US-2 and Russell Road.
Upon arriving officers found that Jolley had a suspended license and saw signs of alcohol and drug use.
Jolley explained to officers that she had smoked weed earlier that day as well as had a few Coors Lights throughout the day. She told officers that she had not used cocaine for at least 2 weeks as well.
Officers conducted both field sobriety tests and a breath sample which showed a .022 BAC.
In court, Jolley’s mother said that she is a good person who just made a bad mistake.
