Vehicle versus pedestrian leads to multiple vehicle crash involving Spokane firetruck

SPOKANE, Wash. – A slide-off on Spokane’s lower South Hill led to a multiple-vehicle crash involving a Spokane Fire Department (SFD) firetruck.

SFD said a driver was heading north on Bernard when they slid out of control and hit an 18-year-old girl who had stopped in the middle of the road. As SFD arrived, a firetruck slid out and hit another car. The firetruck was then rear-ended by a third vehicle.

Fourth and Bernard is closed until further notice. You should avoid the area.

The 18-year-old sustains non-life threatening injuries. According to SFD, no other injuries were reported in this incident.

SFD confirmed there is some damage to fire vehicles.

This incident is under investigation.
