BOISE, Idaho- The United States Attorney’s Office of Idaho announced the sentencing of two men who pleaded guilty to separate attempted sex crimes against children.

Lawrence Osborn was arrested in February of 2023 by Homeland Security for attempting to solicit sex with a minor online.

The Idaho resident interacted with an agent posing as a mother offering sexual contact with her seven year old. Osborn was arrested at a grocery store where he had agreed to meet the mother.

He pleaded guilty in September of 2023 and received a ten year prison sentence on Feb. 2.

Nathan Mark Law was arrested for creating and collecting sexually exploitative content of children over the course of several months in 2023. He submitted a guilty plea in June and was sentenced to eleven years in prison on Feb. 5.

Both cases were coordinated by Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative founded in 2006 which marshals resources between local, state and national entities to combat child abuse on the internet.

The project makes thousands of indictments yearly and has become a key federal government actor in combating child abuse online.
