The Spokane Zephyr returned home last Sunday after a difficult three-game road stretch that included two losses and a tie — not the kind of results a team wants during the push for playoff positioning.
Still, Spokane got back on track Sunday, beating the top team in the USL Super League at home to move back into the playoff conversation.
The league’s top four teams qualify for the playoffs. The Zephyr are tied with DC Power FC for fifth place at 29 points. Both clubs sit three points behind Dallas Trinity, which has 32.
Spokane is positioned for a late push, with all four remaining regular-season matches at home. The Zephyr will host DC Power FC on May 9 in the team’s penultimate game — a matchup that could decide the final playoff spot.
Next up, Spokane hosts Fort Lauderdale United FC at One Spokane Stadium on Sunday, April 26, at 4 p.m.
