SWAT standoff near west central Spokane after man allegedly attempts to light house on fire.

SPOKANE, Wash. – A SWAT standoff is underway near west central Spokane after reports of a man lighting his house on fire.

According to the Spokane Police Department, officers responded to a domestic violence call, where the caller said the suspect had lit the house on fire near the 3200 block of West Boone Avenue. The caller was safely taken out of the home.

A NonStop Local crew on the scene said law enforcement is responding to Sans Souci West, a mobile home village for seniors 55+.

The male suspect is still in the house engaged in a standoff, SWAT, Spokane Fire Department, drones and K9s are responding to the scene.

This remains an active investigation.
