SR-206 closed due to downed powerlines and trees in the area

MEAD, Wash. — SR 206 has been closed in both directions due to downed power lines and trees in the area.

According to the Spokane Regional Transportation Management Center, the road is closed in both directions between Madison Road and the end of SR 206.

Around 4:30 a.m., Spokane Area Traffic updated that the closure on SR 206 at milepost 8 near Cooper Road was due to powerlines and trees being knocked down into the roadway.

For the safety of drivers the road will be closed until further notice. It has been shut down since 2:30 a.m. this morning and there has not been an estimated time for reopening.
