WELLPINIT, Wash. — The Spokane Tribal police are urging parents to check their children’s Halloween candy after reports that brownies handed out yesterday evening were possibly infused with suspected controlled substances.

On Oct. 31 around 10:15 a.m., the Spokane Tribal Police Department were told that individuals were handing out brownies to trick-or-treaters at the Administration Building.

Witnesses gave the officers four brownies stating that they may be infused with a controlled substance.

These four brownies were recovered, police will continue investigating to gather more information about who was passing these out.

Spokane Tribal police want to share this with the public so parents can check any candy received to make sure it is properly sealed.

If anything is opened or unpackaged, they advise you to throw it away. If you have any questions about candy you received, head over to the Public Safety building to have officers check those items.
