SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Symphony will host its first sensory-friendly performance of The Nutcracker Ballet with State Street Ballet.

The Spokane Symphony will partner with High Bridge School and Heidi Farr, a Speech and Language Pathologist, to provide an experience designed for people on the autistic spectrum or who have other sensory sensitivities. Modifications will include relaxed house rules, reduced volume and altered lighting levels. Sensory support equipment will also be available to all participating in the event.

The Symphony held their first-ever sensory-friendly concert in May, which they say received an incredible response.

The event will be held at the Fox Theater on Wednesday, Nov. 29. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the event starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 and must be purchased by calling the Fox Box Office at 509-624-1200.
