SPOKANE, Wash. — Members of Spokane Rotary Club 21 have donated $15,000 to Second Harvest’s “Bite2Go” program to help reduce food scarcity for children at Stevens Elementary School.

Throughout Spokane County, 47% of students and 55% of students in Spokane Public Schools qualify for free or reduced meal prices.

Spokane Rotary Club 21 got additional support from Rotary District 5080 to make this generous donation!

“Ensuring children have access to quality foods both in school and at home on the weekends is essential in supporting the needs of youth in our community. I’m so proud our Rotary Club could come together and support Stevens Elementary in this way,” said Rotary Club 21 President, Rod Price.

Back in 2020, Rotary Club 21 adopted Stevens Elementary as their partner school. They have helped fund projects including the purchase of books, classroom furniture, computers and software.

Rotary members throughout the world strive to make their community better in many different ways.

“They contribute their time, energy, and passion to carry out meaningful and sustainable projects that promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, help mothers and children, support education, grow local economies and protect the environment.”
