North Spokane house catches fire, marking 3rd fire in 3 days

SPOKANE, Wash. – Another north Spokane home caught fire and was evacuated in the middle of the night amidst the cold winter weather Monday morning. This marks at least the third house fire in Spokane in three days.

Spokane Fire Department (SFD) responded to North Milton Street Monday morning after a house fire was reported. They confirmed the fire started in the attic of the house and were able to put it out in about 10 minutes.

The house sustained significant damage. An SFD spokesperson estimated the loss to be about $100,000.

All residents and pets made it out of the house safely. One firefighter slipped and fell on the ice, sustaining minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by SFD.
