SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane police arrested two people from a South Hill home on Sunday; this is the second time in six months that police have arrested people out of this address.

On Feb. 18, the Spokane Police Department (SPD) responded to the 2800 block of East 30th for a report of an argument where two men were pointing guns. SPD said one of the weapons appeared to be a “sawed-off shotgun.”

Both suspects fled before officers arrived at the scene, and a K9 team was used to track the suspects. K9 units led officers to the area of an apartment building in the 3100 block of South Mt Vernon Street.

Officers surrounded the apartment, and after multiple failed attempts to communicate with the suspects, SWAT, Explosives Disposal Unit, Arial Support Unit and the Hostage Negotiation Team responded to the scene.

SPD said a police robot was used to force entry into the apartment, and a drone assisted in the search. Both suspects and an uninvolved woman were found hiding in a bedroom. According to SPD, the suspects complied and surrendered when they were located.

Levante Potter, 31, and Dempsey Arrow, 18, were arrested and charged with second-degree assault.

This is the second time in six months SPD arrested people from this address for crimes of violence involving guns.

On Aug. 17, SPD received a call that multiple people barricaded themselves in the apartment after committing an armed robbery at a Game Stop store. The suspects surrendered after a standoff where officers forcibly entered the apartment using a police robot.
