Spokane man threatened with gun, yanked out of his car according to court documents

SPOKANE, Wash. – Court documents offer additional details on a purported carjacking and police chase which took place on Friday.

Court filings report that a man was driving his mother’s vehicle to Rosauers on Friday when he offered to drive Deasia Walter to a nearby bus stop.

“He and [Walter] talked for a while in a flirtatious manner, while the defendant did her hair and makeup,” court documents stated.

Walter then allegedly pulled a semi-automatic pistol out of her purse, exited the passenger side and attempted to steal the vehicle. The victim tried to seize the gun, and a shot was reportedly fired during the struggle.

The victim managed to get back into the car during the altercation according to the filings, at which point he started driving the car while trying to shove Walter out of the open driver’s side door.

Walter allegedly managed to commandeer the vehicle and push the victim out of the door. He purportedly tried to hang on and was dragged until he was unable to maintain his grip. Law enforcement report finding the victim with wounds from being drug several feet on asphalt.

A handgun cartridge was recovered from the scene according to a Spokane County Sheriff’s deputy who responded to the incident.

Walter was arrested after allegedly fleeing police in the victim’s vehicle. She is currently in Spokane County Jail.
