SPOKANE, Wash. — Six students are displaced after a house fire in Spokane’s Logan neighborhood.

At 11:51 a.m. on April 15, the Spokane Fire Department (SFD) responded to reports of a house fire in the 400 block of East Augusta Avenue. SFD said everyone evacuated the home, and when crews arrived, smoke was seen coming from the second floor.

SFD said the fire was concentrated in one area of the home, with light smoke throughout. The fire was contained in about an hour, and most of the damage was on the second floor.

Six students are displaced but are uninjured and safe.

SFD determined the fire was caused by accidental electrical failure. Estimated damages are $125,000, but firefighters saved $407,000 of property loss.
